Teeling Stout Cask

The Teeling Stout Cask comes from the marriage between two Irish spirits, the whisky and the famous dark beer. This product was developed in collaboration with the Irish Galway Bay Brewery, one more time we can say that Teeling demonstrates its creativity. This innovative association offers a limited edition (12,000 bottles) announced as being rich in flavors and character. This whisky was aged more than 6 months in casks containing the beer “200 Fathoms Imperial Stout”, and this beer just spent time in… old Teeling bourbon casks! So these casks just come back home with some bonus. Let’s see this! 😀

Teeling Stout CaskNose: Very fresh, fruity with some vanilla. It reveals notes of pears and apples but also a touch of caramel. This nose makes me surprisingly think to white wine rather than beer.

Mouth: Sweet and creamy on the palate, it seduces again with its freshness and its fruity notes. We are mainly on pears and oranges aromas but there is also a touch of bananas in the background. Vanilla and some spices. It is difficult to express why but the end of mouth reminds the same end of mouth with a stout, without real bitterness.

Finish: A relatively short finish but very pleasant, on oranges, vanilla and spices.

Note: 86/100

This Teeling Stout cask is really nice, a frank and beautiful success. Teeling proves again that his creativity combined with his excellent knowledge of whisky allow us to excpect more wonders and all this for a great price! Indeed, you can get this great bottle for a price ranging from 35 to 40 €. Just buy it! 😉
